Chapter 2. A Deep Dive into AI for Project Managers
In the previous chapter, you started to understand and contextualize your role as an AI project manager in the organization, gaining some initial insights into the role itself and the typical challenges you may face in your work with both technical teams and general stakeholders.
This chapter will switch things up, covering the more technical aspects of artificial intelligence. As you already know, the only way to get closer to AI implementations and your technical team members is to continue increasing your level of AI literacy. What this looks like obviously depends on your existing knowledge of the topic, but we will make sure you learn all the information you need to, at the very least, understand the key aspects of your AI implementations.
Key AI Topics
There is no scarcity of technical resources about the many AI topics that exist today. There are hundreds of books, lectures, videos, technical articles, and Q&As with experts, and you can even access knowledge via AI tools. However, the main difficulty for most current and aspiring AI project managers is to find, curate, and prioritize their areas of technical learning. Given the practically infinite variety and quantity of resources, it can be easy to select the wrong areas of focus. Or you may inadvertently choose resources that are too general or too technical, which is often a path to disengagement and lack of progress.
