Automation and Virtual Humans
In the previous chapters, the concepts of human beings and work beings were introduced. The term human beings refers to individuals who perform work tasks in a traditional sense, whereas work beings refers to new categories of workers that may be emerging as a result of technological advancements such as artificial intelligence (AI) and automation. These work beings could include things such as AI-powered robots or avatars that are capable of performing tasks that were previously done by humans. As technology continues to evolve, we will likely see more and more “work beings” in the workforce, and this could even change the degree of automation that can be used to complete work.
