It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In this chapter, you saw some tools and solutions to find where slowdowns and bottlenecks are located. In some cases, SQL queries are correctly optimized and the hardware should be enough to get your database working correctly. In other cases, other solutions exist such as the choice of the storage engine or the optimization. That's what we're going to see in the next chapter.
