Running the web application locally

To run the application locally, we can call the app.py script, located in the arenaapp folder, using the Python executable. Open up a command line and pass a script argument:

C:\Python36>python C:\GeospatialPy3\Chapter11\Scripts\arenaapp\app.py

To run this application on a web server is beyond the scope of the chapter, but it involves configuring a web server with a WSGI handler to allow for web requests to be processed by the Python executable and app.py. For Apache web servers, the mod_wsgi module is popular. For Windows servers using Internet Information Services (IIS), the wfastcgi module is very useful and is available from the Microsoft Web Platform Installer.
