Mapbox tools

Employing leaders in the geospatial field (such as Mapbox open source lead Sean Gillies, a major developer of Shapely, Fiona, and Rasterio), Mapbox has contributed to analysis and mapping Python libraries that are available under open source license. Their new MapboxGL—Jupyter library represents a new way to take advantage of their suite of tools in combination with other Python modules (such as Pandas/GeoPandas) and multiple data types, such as GeoJSON, CSVs, and even shapefiles.

Besides the new Python module, Mapbox's open source tools include the MapboxGL JavaScript library, built on the Web Graphics Library (WebGL), and the Mapbox Python SDK.
