Installation and Site Role Configuration
Previous chapters have already begun pulling back the covers on the changes in Configuration Manager 2012. This chapter is focused on discussing Configuration Manager 2012 sites, hierarchies, and site system roles along with a walkthrough of building a sample hierarchy.
A major design pillar for Configuration Manager 2012 was hierarchy simplification. In previous versions of Configuration Manager it was not uncommon to find hierarchies with dozens of sites and in some cases thousands of sites, and often hierarchies would be built four to five or more layers deep.
