What Computers Think About Numbers

To do math, a computer needs a way of representing numbers. As it turns out, computers think about numbers pretty differently than humans do.

For example, we like to think we can keep counting to higher and higher numbers forever, but computers have a limited amount of storage space. If they start counting, they eventually run out of room. There is no biggest number, but there is a biggest number your computer can represent in Scratch.
