It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Interface between the Matplotlib and GUI applications
Before we proceed with specific recipes, it is important to understand the internal workings of how the interface between Matplotlib and the backend GUI toolkit works. This makes it easier to understand the differences between three modes of operation:
- A Matplotlib application using the GUI backend for display only
- A Matplotlib application using a few GUI features/widgets (embedding GUI features in the Matplotlib application)
- A GUI application using Matplotlib plots (embedding Matplotlib in the GUI application)
