About the Author

Scott Whitaker has more than 30 years’ experience covering M&A strategy, post-merger integration, operations, carve-outs, divestitures, and internal M&A capabilities development.

In 2010 Scott cofounded the North American division of Global PMI Partners, an international consulting firm focused on M&A, which later became part of E78 Partners in 2023.

Prior to that Scott held senior-level marketing, sales, and operations positions with several Fortune 500 companies, including Serta Simmons and Sprint.

Scott has M&A experience across public and private companies at all tiers of the market and has advised and managed more than 250 M&A projects across dozens of industry sectors, covering small, mid, and large cap transactions totaling more than $100 billion in value.

M&A work has included engagements in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, China, Europe, Australia, Africa, and Nordics.

He is a recognized expert in the field of M&A and is also the author of Cross-border Mergers & Acquisitions (Wiley 2016) and the first edition of this book, Mergers and Acquisitions Integration Handbook (Wiley 2012).

Scott is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina, the father of three, and lives in Atlanta with his wife, Eve.
