This chapter, addressing the information technology aspects of a post-merger integration process, was originally authored by my friend and colleague Matt Podowitz. I asked Matt to contribute his knowledge and expertise on this topic because of his unique take on the role of information technology in creating value during an integration.
In his more than 30 years of transactions experience, Matt has led operations and technology due diligence, post-merger planning, or integration efforts on more than 400 M&A transactions. You can find Matt on LinkedIn as well.
For this second edition update, I have kept some of Matt’s original content and added some additional integration-related content related to overall infrastructure integration requirements as well.
