Part II. Using Power BI in the Real World
Now that you have passed the PL-300 exam and have achieved the Power BI Analyst Associate credential, how do you prepare to use Power BI in the real world? The answer to this question will vary depending on your needs and those of the organization(s) you serve.
The certification you just received encompasses important fundamental skills needed to use Power BI Desktop and the Power BI service with Pro licensing. It does not, however, cover the enterprise capabilities for organizations with Premium capacity licensing. In other words, by achieving this certification, you have unlocked a door, but there is more ahead if you will be using Power BI in an enterprise environment.
If you are a business data analyst and will only use Power BI Desktop as a solo BI report developer with low data volume, you do not need to work alongside other data professionals and will not be sharing reports with more than a few business users; you are in a good position to use your new skills to create Power BI reports for your needs. The following chapters may be informational but not critical for your needs.
However, if you will be working on a team with other data professionals, need to create solutions that consume large volumes of data, and need to share reports with hundreds of business users, you will need to expand your skills to embrace the enterprise capabilities of Power BI Premium capacity or Microsoft Fabric.
