Chapter 14. Tabular and PowerPivot
At this point in the book, you have learned many interesting features of Tabular and the DAX language. The xVelocity in-memory analytics engine powers two other noteworthy Microsoft tools in the business intelligence (BI) world, PowerPivot for Microsoft Excel and PowerPivot for Microsoft SharePoint. PowerPivot is actually just another name for the xVelocity engine running over Tabular projects. Nevertheless, there are some differences among the products, even if what you learn about the DAX language and the modeling techniques applies to all of them, because they all share the same core.
