Chapter 3. Adding Intelligence

Much of the daily work of the intrepid network administrator involves making decisions. It’s true that upgrades to network operating systems can’t be automated, but many tasks, such as reading the event log and responding to critical events, can be scripted. In this chapter, you build on the skills you learned in Chapter 1, and Chapter 2, and combine them with three powerful tools: If...Then, If...Then...ElseIf, and Select Case.
