Creating and deploying a baseline

Baselines are rules you target to collections of machines to test for compliance. A software update deployment is a form of a baseline. It contains a group of patches and rules to test for clients. In CM, baselines can also remediate the settings you want to change.

Getting ready

You should now see a CI called Company Security Policy in the right-hand pane of Configuration Items under Assets and Compliance | Compliance Settings | Configuration Items. If not, complete the previous task to create it. If you don't already have a collection created to pilot baselines to, create one before proceeding.
