I started Move to the Edge, Declare It Center noticing that the pandemic, forest fires, and racial injustice focused the world's attention on complex problems, and left many of us feeling uncertain about an unknown future. We're aware of how many of the systems we assumed were complicated – well‐understood with a “right answer”– are actually complex. Many of us weren't trained or rewarded for responding to complex problems, where we start from the vulnerable position of “I don't know” and leading with curiosity and inquiry.

The Move to the Edge, Declare It Center framework is designed to help leaders navigate the new normal of complexity and uncertainty. Because we are called upon to make decisions, the framework shares Move to the Edge methods to explore and discover potential new solutions. Declare It Center processes help leaders systematize, scale, share, and sustain the most promising solutions, enabling the others to follow and build on your work. These are the Exterior practices that you can use with your teams, organizations, or movements.
