It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

This is similar to
connect( ), except that the database handle is
stored in a hash with the given parameters. This allows the database
handle to be reused if connect_cached( ) is called
again. You can access and eliminate with the
CachedKids attribute.
