So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Time for action – converting to a physical standby database
To convert from the snapshot mode to a physical standby, the procedure is the same as discussed earlier. Perform the following steps:
- For validation, perform some DML transactions to verify the number of rows of any table before and after the conversion, as shown in the following query:
SQL> select open_mode from v$database; OPEN_MODE -------------------- READ WRITE SQL> conn packt/packt; Connected.
