I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

It all started with Peter Koletzke, who invited me to the Oracle Press author party and introduced me to Lisa McClain, from McGraw-Hill. She liked what she saw—well enough at least to sign me on as an author. Note that this was very early 2008, and to her credit she kept faith where many might have given up on the project, as it was not a smooth ride for the first year and a half.
