This chapter addresses the major practical functions of digital imaging such as the capturing of images and different output options. It does not discuss the vast and volatile area of specific tools used by individual software programs. Some of the topics in this chapter assume basic knowledge of software programs like Adobe PhotoShop®. This text gives some basic instructions on how to open specific menus in the program, but is not designed for novice users. As in the rest of the text, the reader is expected to have a solid working knowledge of a program before undertaking a digital project.
