I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

When you first have an idea for a book (in my case while drinking good coffee in a Brighton cafe), it is the subject matter alone that grips you. In the enthusiasm of the moment, it is easy to forget the scale of the undertaking. I soon rediscovered the sheer hard work a book demands, and I learned once again that it's not something you can do alone. At every stage of this book's development, I have benefited from enormous support.
In fact, my thanks must predate the book's conception. The themes of this book first saw the light of day in a talk I gave for a Brighton initiative called Skillswap (http://www.skillswap.org) run by Andy Budd.
