SURVEY OF PRACTICE: DO ORGANIZATIONS LEARN FROM PROJECTS?

3.1 Introduction

This chapter describes the results of the survey of project managers on the use of “lessons learned” from projects. The questionnaire was designed to answer specific questions about how project managers learn lessons from projects, and whether they consider it to be successful. The questionnaire was piloted with a small group of experienced project managers from the UK, U.S., and China, and modified using their comments. The questionnaire was then distributed by means of the Zoomerang™ website (www.zoomerang.com). There were 522 usable responses (plus 14 unusable responses).
