Anoop T. and Franck Cornu have been closely involved in the journey of the SharePoint Framework (SPFx) since the early dawn of this technology, which has transformed and modernized SharePoint and Microsoft 365 extensibility in recent years. This is not just about technology, but also about the power of open source and community initiatives to influence the modernization of the product.
I was personally involved with the creation of the first public version of SPFx, which was initially released to preview status back in May 2016 as part of the announcement of the so-called “Future of SharePoint.” This was a fundamental shift away from the experiences and technology that SharePoint had been using on-premises.
