No, a system of equations is not a way to organize, arrange, or classify equations. A system of equations is a collection of equations involving the same set of variables. The point is to find all solutions, if they exist, that work in all the equations. Solving one equation for one variable is often your first and wisest option.
It goes without saying that the bigger the system of equations becomes, the more challenging it may be to solve. Solving a system involves several options, and sometimes it may be easier to solve certain systems certain ways.
