Prólogo

AWS Lambda -y en general tanto serverless como backend as a service- han tenido un efecto enormemente disruptivo en la industria del software: han mejorado enormemente la productividad de millones de desarrolladores al eliminar muchas de las molestias, los costes y el "trabajo pesado indiferenciado" de tratar con servidores, desde los parches de seguridad hasta el ajuste del autoescalador. Pero lo más importante es que la tecnología sin servidor ha cambiado la definición misma de una aplicación, pasando de ser una masa de código que soltamos en granjas de servidores a una configuración de servicios en la nube con múltiples usuarios que orquestamos con código en el cielo. La tecnología sin servidor es la siguiente etapa de la evolución de la nube: igual que antes parecía imposible construir una empresa sin su propio centro de datos, ahora es posible que las empresas nunca tengan un servidor. Es una transformación fascinante que hay que observar y de la que hay que formar parte.
