Appendix A. Hardware Design Using ISIS Schematic Capture

Proteus VSM is an interactive electronics design package from Labcenter Electronics that allows analog, digital, and microprocessor circuits to be subjected to virtual testing before the creation of a PCB layout for the construction of real hardware. ISIS is the schematic capture package, and ARES is the layout package.

The circuit is entered directly onto the schematic by selecting components from a library of parts, which have associated mathematical models (e.g., V=IR for a resistor).
