I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
1.1 Installing Groovy
Getting a stable working copy of Groovy is really simple: just visit the Groovy home page at http://groovy.codehaus.org , and click the Download link. We can download either the binary release or the source release. Download the source release to build Groovy locally or to explore the source code. Otherwise, download the binary release. For Windows, we can also get the Windows Installer version. While we’re there, let’s also grab the documentation for Groovy.
For programmers on the Groovy users mailing list who’re bleeding-edge types, the previously mentioned releases will not suffice. They’ll want the latest prerelease version of the language implementation. We can get the snapshot release from http://groovy.codehaus.org/Git ...
