So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Hands On: Field Statistician
Now that we have a program that deals with multiple variables, you might want to try it on real-life data. In the data/life-expectancy directory of the book’s source code, you’ll find a dataset that lists life expectancy in many countries.
In the same directory you’ll also find a readme.txt that contains additional information, including an experiment that you can run on this dataset. You’ll be asked to train the multiple linear regression program on these data, and to compare the program’s predictions to the ground truth.
Have fun playing with real data!
