It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Calculates and returns the MD5 encryption hash for the file at
path. An MD5 hash is a 32-character
hexadecimal value that can be used to checksum a file’s data. If
binary is supplied and is true, the result is sent as a 16-bit binary
value instead.
