It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

string php_ini_scanned_files()
Returns a string containing the names of the configuration files
parsed when PHP started up. The files are returned in a
comma-separated list. If the compile-time configuration option
--with-config-file-scan-dir was not
set, false is returned
instead.
