Apéndice A. Entornos Conda
En el Capítulo 2, introduje los entornos Conda explicando que (base) al principio de un indicador de Anaconda representa el entorno Conda actualmente activo con el nombre base. Anaconda requiere que trabajes siempre en un entorno activado, pero la activación se realiza automáticamente para el entorno base cuando inicias el Prompt de Anaconda en Windows o el Terminal en macOS. Trabajar en con entornos Conda te permite separar adecuadamente las dependencias de tus proyectos: si quieres probar una versión más reciente de un paquete como pandas sin cambiar tu entorno base, puedes hacerlo en un entorno Conda separado. En la primera parte de este apéndice, te guiaré a través del proceso de creación de un entorno Conda llamado xl38 en el que instalaremos todos los paquetes en la versión que yo los utilicé para escribir este libro. Esto te permitirá ejecutar los ejemplos de este libro tal cual, aunque algunos paquetes hayan publicado nuevas versiones con cambios de ruptura entretanto. En la segunda parte, te mostraré cómo desactivar la activación automática del entorno base si no te gusta el comportamiento por defecto.
Crear un nuevo entorno Conda
Ejecuta el siguiente comando en tu Prompt de Anaconda para crear un nuevo entorno con el nombre xl38 que utilice Python 3.8:
(base)> conda create --name xl38 python=3.8
Al pulsar Intro, Conda imprimirá lo que va a instalar en el nuevo entorno y te pedirá que lo confirmes:
