Python is a fantastic language and these advanced techniques, which highlight controlling threads, processes, I/O, and logging, are pivotal to adding permanency to your scripts. There are a number of examples in the industry that help assess security, such as Sulley. This is a tool that automates the fuzzing of applications in an effort to help identify security weaknesses, the results of which can later be used to write Frameworks such as Metasploit.
