Using a Quantum Annealer – Developing a QUBO Function and Applying Constraints
In this chapter, we will switch gears from learning about the Amazon Braket service to diving into the programming and basic information needed to solve a real-world problem on a quantum annealer or, more specifically, one of the D-Wave devices available on Amazon Braket.
We will review the concept of quantum annealing, followed by solving a small three-variable problem using D-Wave. Next, we will extend the number of variables and introduce a very simple way to visualize quadratic problems through a party optimization problem.
