being familiar with appropriate tools and techniques. Focus on your per-
sonal attributes as a manager, and reflect on what it takes to lead and
develop a team.

The starting point is to look closely at yourself and reflect on your self-
perception. If you are a newly promoted manager make sure you review
that self-perception and adjust your way of thinking where necessary.
