Hour 4. Listing Files and Managing Disk Usage
This hour introduces you to the ls command, one of the most commonly used commands in UNIX, which is used to list files. The discussion includes more than a dozen different command options, or flags. You also learn how to use the touch command to create files, how to use the du command to see how much disk space you're using, and how to use the df command to see how much disk space is available. Finally, the compress command can help you minimize your disk space usage, particularly on files you're not using very often.
