Ian chose Lua because it is a fast, flexible language that is ideal for adding scripting to an existing project. He fell in love with the embeddable prototype language while building a production system with it.
Ian was captivated by the potential of dependent types in languages like Agda and Idris when he saw a presentation on applying the lessons of these languages to C++ or Java. Since then, he’s always wanted to explore these concepts in greater detail.
