What’s the difference between a good time-lapse movie and a great one? And what makes some photographers more consistently able to create compelling films than others?
It’s not the equipment. It never has been. Even if cameras themselves were a part of the answer, even today’s entry-level cameras, in the right hands, are capable of producing technically perfect images. And I have seen a lot of amateur photographers with larger amounts of and more expensive equipment than many pros.
Neither is it access to seemingly exotic subjects and locations. A quick browse through the entries in Travel Photographer of the Year shows that travel has never been cheaper, more open or more adventurous. ...
