Chapter 14 introduced us to Firefly. Now let’s see what we can make it do. First, we’ll walk through the environment for building and testing Firefly programs. Then, we’ll look at five examples that put Firefly to the test. For the first test, we’ll make the firefly count (“Fly Time”). After that, we’ll simulate a 1960s sci-fi computer display (“Space Trek”). Then, we’ll go high-brow and play some classical music (“Beethoven in Lights”). We’ll even experiment with animation effects (“Dance Dance”) and end with something useful, a tea timer (“Tea Time”). We’ll conclude the chapter with a discussion of Firefly as a programming language. ...
