Part IIMastering the Four Critical Strategic Questions
In Part II, we expand on each of the four strategic questions and show how the answers populate the LogFrame matrix. Each question and answer provides a piece of the project puzzle solution.
Chapter 5 explores Question #1—Asking What results we are trying to accomplish and Why guides you in building a strong foundation.
Chapter 6 addresses Question #2—Asking How to measure success assists you in pinning down What each Objective means. Being able to describe what success looks like in advance grounds your project in the real world and shapes agreement.
Chapter 7 answers Question #3—Asking what other conditions must exist leads you to identify and reduce risk by evaluating your Assumptions.
Chapter 8 discusses Question #4—Asking How we get there is where you develop your execution plan, whether you follow a predictive or adaptive (agile) project lifecycle.
Use these questions as discussion springboards. They get the ball rolling and will spark secondary questions that deepen your conversation. Answering these key questions accomplishes the corresponding project design steps as shown in Figure II.1.
