This chapter will discuss the WH_MSGFILTER hook
and will include a thread-specific example to demonstrate its setup
and use. The WH_MSGFILTER hook is a special type
of hook that intercepts only a specific subset of sent messages. This
hook has a very close cousin, the WH_SYSMSGFILTER
hook. The WH_SYSMSGFILTER hook intercepts the same
type of messages but at a system-wide level only. Chapter 16 will discuss the
WH_SYSMSGFILTER hook and compare and contrast it
with the WH_MSGFILTER hook.
