Apple has rethought the iPad interface with iPadOS 26, adding robust windowing and multitasking features that bring it much closer to a general-purpose computing system like macOS. However, it still keeps its unique iPad nature, such as relying heavily on gestures.

This chapter introduces the new iPad interface elements and explains how to access and use them to your best benefit.
