Evaluating Sound Quality |
This chapter will present a process for evaluating sound quality that can also be used to define the characteristics of timbre. This process is projected towards establishing a vocabulary for audio professionals to communicate meaningful information about sound.
By directly describing the physical dimensions of sound, the process can be easily adapted to any sound evaluation. The reader will learn to describe sound quality (accounting for the various contexts within which sounds exist), and to evaluate sound out of context (as an abstract, sound object).
