HOW AND WHEN

TO USE COLOR

As you become a more informed consumer of data visualizations, you may start to chime in when you see things you think would help present data more clearly. Good. Your organization will benefit as you advocate for clarity and become a patron of the charts.

In your discussions with colleagues, you may run into people who have good intentions but bad ideas when it comes to color. Their ideas may sound an awful lot like, “This dashboard is dull and needs to have more impact. More colors and bolder colors would help a lot.”
