Textures define the Object's composition such as whether it is glass, brick, sand, wood etc. Textures are also used to simply apply a pattern of color or shading. Textures, by and large, are images placed or mapped on to the surface and, therefore, superimpose over Material color. This type of Texture is referred to as; an Image Texture.
