It took the Gig Economy to write this book. My working life in the Gig Economy inspired it, the MBA class I teach on the topic informed it, and a whole team of independent Gig Economy workers helped research, edit, and review the manuscript, transcribed interviews, built a website, crafted a social media strategy, and agreed to be interviewed. As a team, we didn’t organize one conference call or attend one meeting, and none of our work took place in a cubicle (or even in an office). For those reasons alone, we all want the Gig Economy to be the future of work.
