Taking Interviews and Presenting Your Portfolio

The telephone rings. Someone from the human resources department at a company you’re interested in working for is calling to set up a job interview. You’ve done it! You’ve landed the interview of your dreams.

Your résumé has done its work (figs. 15-1 and 15-2). Now it’s up to you, to the first impression you make personally, and to your portfolio. Showing your port is your big chance to demonstrate your accomplishments. But before you have that all-important interview, you must prepare. This chapter tells you how.

Preparing for a Job Interview

Preparation is the key to a successful job search. The more information you have about the potential employer, the better you can articulate your message. In addition, your knowledge of the company demonstrates that you are resourceful and have a genuine interest in the position.
