Don’t Overlook LinkedIn

 

With all this talk about resumes, do you think you can bypass LinkedIn? Absolutely not! Recent studies report more than 90 percent of employers are turning to LinkedIn.1 This means that almost every employer is using LinkedIn to search for talent, not just post jobs. Posting jobs results in hundreds of applications, and about half of the applicants won’t be qualified.2 Time constraints may prevent recruiters from reviewing your online presence, but according to Jobvite, a company that develops tools for social recruiting and applicant tracking, 78 percent of recruiters have actually hired through a social network, and 92 percent of those recruiters hired people they found on LinkedIn.3
