Chapter Eighteen. Windows 2000 and Windows XP
WINDOWS 2000 AND Windows XP continued the evolution of the Windows user interface introduced in Windows 95. They faced the dual challenge of changing the user interface while still maintaining backward compatibility as well as coping with an increasingly hostile software environment. Gone are the days when you could assume that software vendors wouldn’t actively abuse their customers.
