This chapter explores different types of convergences and compares various topologies on the space of quantum channels or extended quantum channels from system A to system B. These include uniform, strong and convergences as well as topologies generated by (unconstrained and energy constrained) diamond norms, (unconstrained and energy constrained) Bures distance, and completely bounded norm.
With the exceptions of Sections 6.1, 6.5 and 6.6, it is recommended that readers skip the rest of this chapter at the first reading and revisit it when it is needed at a later time.
