Straight Ahead Action and Pose to Pose
There are two main approaches to animation.

“Straight ahead” and “pose to pose” are considered as distinct, different approaches to animation. With pose-to-pose animation, the animator will block in the key poses for the animation prior to working on the animation refinement. In traditional cell animation, a key animator would typically work on the key poses, while an “in-betweener” would work on the poses in-between the main poses.
