Writing this book was an enjoyable intellectual challenge. At a time when most people lost money, writing about absolute return strategies with chart patterns was more than an idea; it involved articulating knowledge accumulated over many years.

But having the knowledge and transferring it into a book are two different things. My son, Dr. Jens Fischer, who worked closely with me on the previous books, was of extraordinary help in producing the charts and the page layout of this book. And even more, his skill in converting complex analytic trading concepts into easy-to-understand English created the necessary bridge to readers. Without his help this book would have never been written.

None of the strategies presented in this book could be executed without a software package like Fibotrader. Although some of the trading tools are available on other trading platforms, the PHI-ellipse, for example, as the most interesting trading tool is available nowhere else. It took the special understanding of trading tools and the tremendous programming expertise of Andre Gellrich and Robert Wetzold to create the Fibotrader software. I have worked with Fibotrader for many years, and without this software the trading signals in the different strategies could not have been executed, shown on charts, and tested with stop-loss and profit targets.

It was a privilege for me to work with all of these great people, who gave me the opportunity to share my ideas and my experience.
